Berghotel Sonnhof is located right at the ski slopes. You can get with Sonnenlift 1, on the sunny side of the Obertauern skiing area. At our hotel you can spend a relaxing holiday in Obertauern, far away from noise and traffic. The magnificent views of the mountains around Obertauern always amaze our satisfied guests.
All around the hotel you will see people skiing and snowboarding. Frolicking in the snow starts right at our doorstep. You will have direct entry onto the famous Tauernrunde that leads in both directions to and from Hotel Sonnhof.
Arrival and Departure
What makes our Hotel Sonnhof unique is its location directly on the ski slopes in the Obertauern snow paradise. Please note that our hotel is not accessible by car or taxi.
Your adventuresome skiing holiday begins as soon as you arrive at our hotel. We will pick you up when you arrive at the hotel car park. Just call us at +43 6456 7225 and we will come for you in our Ski-Doo or snowmobile. Our car park is located on the left side of the road past bridge 3, next to Hotel Barbara.
Essential for your trip: Don’t forget your snow chains.
Our hotel is open to receive you every day from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive at a different time, please let us know by telephone at the above number.
Please note that we are unable to pick you up between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and pick-ups are only available for arrivals and departures.
Winter hiking trails to and from the Hotel
The sports centre in the holiday town of Obertauern is only 1.5 km away, 20 minutes with the Sonnenlift 3 or the Zentralbahn.
Car park: 1 km, or 15 minutes with Sonnenlift 3 near Hotel Barbara
Both winter hiking trails are well marked and groomed daily.
Ski wear and Sportswear
Whether its skis, shoes or sportswear, you will be able to rent all the equipment you need at Sport Circle, right next to Bridge 3 (Tel +43 6456 7510). Please make arrangements for this prior to your arrival at the hotel.

Lift tickets
The lift ticket office is located at the Talstation of Sonnenlift 1. All types of passes are available. Lift tickets cannot be purchased at the Hotel.
